  • What should I do if my product needs service?

    NOTE: This does not apply to TVs, Microwaves, Vacuums, and Massage Chairs

    Please include your name, address, telephone number, email address, copy of your purchase receipt (for warranty service), and a description of what is wrong with the unit. Freight collect shipments will not be accepted.

    Panasonic is not responsible for damage that occurs in transit. All contents should be packaged for safe travel to the service center. Customer should use a reputable small package shipping company that is able to provide a package tracking number and insurance (if customer should so desire to insure their package).

    Units that are abused, damaged, infested with insects, have corrosion, etc. will be placed out-of-warranty.

  • Why is there no power to the fax machine?
    Make sure that the power cord is connected. Also, try a different power outlet.
  • Why is there a "Replace drum" message appearing on the printer's display?
    It may be time to replace both the toner cartridge and drum cartridge. Please check for availability online at
  • Why does a "Toner Low" message appear on the printer's display?

    It may be time to replace the toner catridge. Please check for availability online at

  • Why am I unable to send a fax?
    The telephone line cord may be connected to the [EXT] jack on the unit. Connect to the [LINE] jack.
    1. If you used a splitter/coupler to connect the unit, remove the splitter/coupler and connect the unit to the wall jack directly. If the unit operates properly, check the splitter/coupler.
    2. Disconnect the unit from the telephone line and connect a known working telephone. If the working telephone operates properly, contact our service personnel to have the unit repaired. If the working telephone does not operate properly, contact your telephone company.
    3. The power cord or telephone line cord is not connected. Check the connections.
    4. If you have connected the fax machine through a computer modem, connect the fax machine directly to a telephone line jack.
  • Where can I order the replacement toner for my machine?
    You can get the replacement toner and drum from our Parts & Accessories Department at 1-800-833-9626. The replacement drum model is KX-FA77, and the replacement toner model is KX-FA76.

  • What should I do if I have no dial tone on my fax machine?
    1. Check the power cord and telehpone line cord connections.
    2. Try a different telephone line cord. Problem may be with the phone cord.
    3. Unplug the fax machine and install a different portable phone on the wall jack where the product is currently plugged. If the portable phone has a dial tone then it's a problem with the machine. Please call the technical Helpline for options. If the portable phone doesn't have dial tone but is working on the other jack then there could be a problem with the jack where the machine is currently plugged in to.
    4. The telephone line cord may be connected to the [EXT] jack on the product instead of the [LINE] jack.
    5. If you have connected the fax machine through a computer modem, connect the fax machine directly to a telephone line jack.
    6. Relocate the product.
  • What is the maximum number of recipients I can fax a document to?
    You can send a fax to a maximum of 20 recipients once they have been programmed into the broadcast memory.
  • The documents that I faxed out or copy has a black lines on it. How do I fix it?
    The scanner glass may be dirty with debris such as "white out" or just plain dirt.
    1. Unplug the unit and locate the scanner glass
    2. Clean with dry cloth or if necessary, use a damped cloth with rubbing alcohol to help remove dirt
    3. Dry thoroughly before replugging the unit
  • My film keeps getting tangled up or keeps sticking why does it keep doing this?
    This usually happens if you are using after market brands or films made by another manufacturer. The wax contents for the Panasonic film and after market brands are different thus the film sticks to the machine and paper. If you are using genuine Panasonic films then the machine needs to be serviced.
  • I am getting a paper jammed error message. What do I do to fix it?
    To remove this message you need to remove the jammed paper. You may need to open the cover of the machine and pull the jammed paper towards you. Make sure that there are no pieces of paper left in the unit. Remove the installed paper and reinstall gently. Close the unit once you are done.
  • How do I to set date and time?
    1. Press [MENU] [#] [0] [1]. You will see "SET DATE & TIME" press [SET] on the display
    2. The desired menu option will appear, press [SET]
    3. Enter the correct month/day/year by selecting 2 digits for each, using the dial keypad
      Example: August 10, 2002 - You Press [0] [8] [1] [0] [0] [2]
    4. Press [SET] to save
    5. Enter the correct hour/minute by selecting 2 digits for each, using the dial keypad. Press [*] to select "AM" or "PM"
      Example: 10:15PM - You Press [1] [0] [1] [5] and Press [*] until "PM" is displayed
    6. Press [SET] to save
    7. Press [MENU] to exit
  • How do I set the logo for my machine?
    1. Press [MENU] [#] [0] [2] then [SET]. You will see "LOGO=" on the screen
    2. Enter your logo, up to 30 characters. Every key corresponds to a certain character
      Example: PANA Press [7] once then [2] once [6] twice [2] once
      NOTE: To enter a character that is located on the same dial key as the previously entered character, you must first press [►] to move the cursor to the next space
      To make corrections: Press [◄] or [►] to move the cursor to the incorrect character, and enter the correct character. You can also press [STOP] to delete the incorrect character left to the cursor
      Pressing [#] will change the character to upper-case or lower-case alternatively
    3. Press [SET] to save
    4. Press [MENU] to exit
  • How do I put my fax number in the machine?
    1. Press [MENU] [#] [1] [0] [3] then [SET]. You will see "NO.=" on the screen
    2. Enter your fax number, up to 20 digits
      - To enter a "+", press [*]
      - To enter a space, press [#]
      - To enter a hyphen, press [FLASH]
      - To erase a number, press [STOP]
    3. Press [SET] to save
    4. Press [MENU] to exit
  • How do I change the dialing mode from pulse to tone?
    1. Press [MENU]
      Displays: "SYSTEM SET UP"
    2. Press [#] then [1] [3]
      Displays: "DIALING MODE"
    3. Press [SET]
    4. Rotate the [JOG DIAL] until you see "TONE"
    5. Press [SET]
    6. Press [MENU]
  • How do I change my remote access code?
    1. Press [MENU] [#] [1] [1]. You will see "REMOTE TAD ID=111" on the display.
    2. Enter any 3-digit number except a number using 0 or 7. The default ID is "111".
    3. Press [SET] to save.
    4. Press [MENU] to exit.
  • How do I adjust the ringer volume for my machine?
    4 levels (high/middle/low/off) are available. While the unit is idle, press [+] or [-] If any documents are in the entrance, you cannot adjust the ringer volume. Confirm that there are no documents in the entrance. To turn the ringer off:
    1. Press[-] repeatedly until the screen displays, "Ringer OFF = OK?"
      "Yes: SET/NO: STOP"
    2. Press [SET]
    3. To turn ringer back on, press [+]
    When a call is received, the unit will not ring and will just display "INCOMING CALL".
  • How can I register for the warranty of my product?
    You may register your products online by clicking here. It is not necessary to submit this form in order to effectuate the limited warranty. As long as there is a copy of the receipt, your product warranty begins from the date of purchase.
  • How can I hear the caller while recording the message?
    1. Press [MENU] [#] [6] [7] then [SET].
    2. You should see "ICM Monitor=ON". If not, rotate the JOG DIAL until you see "ICM Monitor=ON".
    3. Press [SET] to save.
    4. Press [MENU] to exit.
  • Can I refill the toner cartridge in this printer?
    No. The toner cartidge should be replaced and not refilled.
  • Can I connect my fax machine to my computer in order to be used as a printer?
    No. It can't be connected to your computer since the fax machine doesn't have USB or LAN connection and its not a multifunction unit.
